Below, we have tried to answer the most common questions visitors to this our website may have. If you find that your question is not answered on this page, please email us at braintreedogtraining@gmail.com

I want to start training, how do I join?
What we ask is if you could just come along on a Friday evening, around 8pm, with your dog to have a chat & watch the classes. If you decide you like what you see and you return the following week you will then be asked to enrol & pay your membership.
You will come along to watch for a further two weeks before you start actual training so you & your dog can get used to the surroundings and familiarise yourself with the training methods used.
You'll be able to have a chat and ask any questions you may have.

How old does my dog have to be?
Your dog can attend at any age as long as it is fully vaccinated & microchipped before enrolment.

Does my dog need vaccinations?
Yes - all dogs must be fully vaccinated. We will need to see vaccination certificates before your dog can partake in classes. Please ask your vet for further advice about vaccinations.
Your dog must be clear - so it can not attend for at least one week after it's second vaccination

Does my dog need to be microchipped?
Yes, now this has become law this must be done before you can attend. We have a scanner and will check all new members.

Do I need a specific type of collar?
We suggest a half check collar but any correctly fitting collar is fine. We do not allow flexi leads to be used in class.
Harnesses are not recommended (except if used because of an injury or suchlike).

How much does it cost?
We charge an annual (human) membership of £5.00 single/£7.50 joint and then a further fee of £2.50
to £3.00 a week (per dog) depending on which class you attend. The 7.00pm & 7.30pm classes for younger dogs last 30 mins and are £2.50 and the 8.00pm & 8.40pm classes for older dogs last 40 mins and are charged at £3.00.

How long does a course last?
We do not have courses that run for a certain period of time, we run classes every week, for as long as you wish to partake, whether that be 10 weeks or 10 years!

Do you have a waiting list?
No, just pop along and we'll get you started as soon as we can.

Do I have to have a pedigree dog to join?
No you do not.
Pedigrees, Crossbreeds and Mixed breeds are all welcome.

I’m a member - what happens if I miss a class?
We ask that you call (or text) the club, using the phone number given when you joined, to let your instructor know if you are going to be absent on any club night. If you fail to do so you will be charged the usual class rate for the night you miss. Please bear in mind - club rules state that if you miss THREE weeks without contacting us you will automatically forfeit your place in the class and will be returned to the waiting list.

Can I come along to have a look?
Please do - follow the directions given on the ‘Contact Us’ page of this website and come and have a look. (And, yes...you can bring your dog too!)
